Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 Shoe Review

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 Shoe Review

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19

Brooks continues to have more great shoe releases as we get closer to the heart of summer. Last week I reviewed the Glycerin 16 and this week I am reviewing the Adrenaline GTS 19. This stability shoe is one of the most popular Brooks running shoes on the market. This shoe is great for daily training and long runs. The latest version has a few updates that I think you will you like.

As much as I like traditional running shoes, I usually prefer a minimalist support shoe like the Brooks PureCadenceAsics Gel-DS Trainer, or the Saucony Guide ISO.

This shoe is great for a number of reasons, but one of the things I like is that Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 has up to 6 color options. I expect this to increase as the GTS 18 had over 15 color options.

With the positive experience I had with the Adrenaline GTS 18 shoe, I was excited to try the updated version of the Adrenaline GTS 19.

Similar to last year, the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 continues the tradition of being a great stability shoe. From the moment I put these shoes on, they felt great and were the perfect weight for a stability running shoe.

If you are looking for a running shoe with additional support weighing around 10 oz, then you should give the Adrenaline GTS 19 a try. This shoe continues to be the most popular Brooks running shoe for obvious reasons. Reasonably priced and superb performance.

The updated sole and upper reduces the weight of this shoe, something that Adrenaline lovers will appreciate. The major update for this stability shoe is the is the GuideRails support system.

If you are looking for a comfortable and high performance stability running shoe, you should try the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 Shoe Initial Thoughts

My review of the Adrenaline GTS 18 was very positive and was expecting the same experience with the latest version of this popular running shoe.

When I first opened the box I was impressed with the grey and blue color scheme. I was also excited to know that this version felt lighter and faster than previous versions. Even thought these felt lighter, this version is a little heavier than last years model.

I liked the padded tongue and the ankle collar. It’s amazing what a comfortable ankle collar can do for the overall opinion of a shoe.

The shoe remains to have a 12mm drop (rear to front), which is a little higher than the majority of shoes I run in.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 Shoe Overview

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 running shoe continues to be a highly rated stability running shoe ideal for daily training.

The supportive ride of these shoes makes it great for daily training and recovery runs. Many runners consider this their go-to shoe. The new GuideRails support system along with the DNA LOFT sole cushion, which is more responsive and softer than previous versions.

I expect Brooks to add additional color options as last year had over 15 options. Weighing in at 11 oz for a men’s size 9, these shoes a great combination of support and cushion.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 Shoe Sole

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 sole is similar to its predecessor with a few noticeable updates. The main enhancements to the sole include the GuideRails support system and the addition of the DNA LOFT cushion.

One of the biggest updates to the sole is the new GuideRails support system, which helps to protect your knees and minimize excess movement.

The shoe continues to have a BioMoGo DNA midsole provides a softer feel and now with the DNA LOFT cushion provides the right amount of responsiveness.

The sole of the Adrenaline GTS 19 continues to have Omega Flex Grooves, which enhance the cushion of the shoe and the blown rubber material provides improved durability.

The Caterpillar Crash Pad offers improved stability and helps promote a more natural running motion.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19 Shoe Upper

When I first put on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 19, I was immediately impressed with the ankle collar and tongue. The majority of the upper of this shoe remains similar to the GTS 18.

The mesh upper now includes a 3D Fit Print, which improves support and stability. The rest of the upper is similar to last years version.

The padded tongue on the Adrenaline is one of my favorite things about this shoe. The width of it is just right and really helps improve the fit of this shoe.
