Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 Shoe Review

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18

Brooks continues to have more great shoe releases as we get closer to the heart of summer. Last week I reviewed the Glycerin 16 and this week I am reviewing the Adrenaline GTS 18. This stability shoe is one of the most popular Brooks running shoes on the market. This shoe is great for daily training and long runs. The latest version has a few updates that I think you will you like.

As much as I like traditional running shoes, I usually prefer a minimalist shoe like the Brooks PureCadence or Asics Gel-DS Trainer.

This shoe is great for a number of reasons, but one of the things I like is that Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 has 17 different colors to choose from. That just goes to show you how popular this shoe is. No other shoe has that many color options.

Even though this shoe has been around for a long time, this is my first time reviewing this shoe. I have worn this shoe in the past, just never wrote an actual review. With that said, I was excited to try the updated version of the Adrenaline GTS 18.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 Shoe Verdict

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 continues the tradition of a great stability shoe. Even though this is the first time I have reviewed this shoe I have worn a few earlier versions. While I always liked the shoe, I didn’t always love it.

Some of the older versions were a little heavier so I was excited to see how these felt for the review.

If you are looking for additional support in a shoe that weighs around 10 oz, then you should give this a try. This is a popular go-to shoe that is great for everyday training. I wouldn’t wear this for speedwork, but great for those everyday workouts.

The updated mesh upper is very comfortable and reduces the weight of this shoe, something that Adrenaline lovers will appreciate.

If you are looking for a plush and comfortable stability running shoe, consider trying the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 Shoe Initial Thoughts

As I mentioned earlier in the post, I have worn these shoes in the past but not for a few years.

When I first opened the box I was impressed with how much lighter these shoes felt than some of the earlier versions that I have worn. I liked the blue and orange color scheme for the shoes that were worn for this review.

I liked the padded tongue and was impressed with the updated mesh upper. Lighter and very comfortable.

The shoe remains to have a 12mm drop (rear to front), which is a little higher than the majority of shoes I run in.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 Shoe Overview

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 running shoe continues to be a highly rated stability running shoe ideal for daily training.

The supportive ride of these shoes makes it great for daily training and recovery runs. Many runners consider this their go-to shoe. The updated mesh along with a softer feel are some of the minor updates to this version of the shoe.

The 17 color options make it easy to find a color option that works for you. They even have a USA version that is really cool.

Weighing in at 10.1 oz for a men’s size 9, these shoes offer a great combination of support and cushion.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 Shoe Sole

The Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 sole is similar to its predecessor. Some of the minor updates include the updated foam sole and a small update to the diagonal rollbar. The shoe continues to provide plenty of stability with improved cushion.

The updated BioMoGo DNA midsole provides a softer feel all while making this shoe a little softer than last years model.

The sole of the Adrenaline GTS 18 continues to have Omega Flex Grooves, which enhance the cushion of the shoe and the blown rubber material provides improved durability.

The Caterpillar Crash Pad offers improved stability and helps promote a more natural running motion.

Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18 Shoe Upper

When I first put on the Brooks Adrenaline GTS 18, I was immediately impressed with the redesigned upper of the shoe. The engineered mesh is sleek and helps improve the way the shoe wraps your foot.

The synthetic overlays help provide a secure and comfortable fit. The mesh is not only comfortable but helps keep your feet cool. With the summer heat, I thought my feet would roast. While they were hot when running, the mesh helped keep them cool.

The Profile Sockliner is made of BioMoGo foam, which like many other Brooks running shoes is comfortable and improves the fit of this shoe. The padded tongue on the Adrenaline is one of my favorite things about this shoe. The width of it is just right and really helps improve the fit of this shoe.
