Saucony Hurricane 24 Shoe Review
Prior to the Saucony Tempus, the Saucony Hurricane running shoe was my second favorite Saucony running shoe. It really was the ideal shoe for daily training and longer runs. I still love the Saucony Tempus (can’t wait for the Saucony Tempus 2), but the Saucony Hurricane 24 is now in my rotation for my recovery runs.
At the time of this review, the Saucony Hurricane 24 is available in 7 colors. I will say that although there are 7 colors, I really only like 2 or 3 of them, including the one I wore for this review.
I have ordered a 1/2 size up with previous versions of the Hurricane shoe, and did that again for the latest version of the Hurricane shoe. The width of the shoe remains similar to previous versions.

Saucony Hurricane 24 Shoe Verdict
Our Rating: |
Viewer Rating: |
The Saucony Hurricane 24 shoe is a great stability/max cushion shoe to have in your running shoe rotation. The max cushion is noticeable, but definitely more shoe than the Tempus and other lighter Saucony options. I love this shoe for my slower recovery runs.
The shoe was transformed with this version and has an improved midsole with dual cushioning along with an adaptive lacing system, making it comfortable and plush.
If you are looking for a stability shoe that is great for long runs and daily training, I would strongly recommend giving the Hurricane 234“#ffffff” size=”7″ radius=”5″]Buy Now »[/su_button]
Saucony Hurricane 24 Initial Thoughts
When I saw that Saucony released a new version of the Saucony Hurricane, I had to give them a try. Previous versions were a huge part of my life in some of my earlier marathon training programs.
As soon as I opened the box, I was intrigued with how the shoes looked. I liked the color, but at the same time the shoes reminded me of the Hoka One One Clifton. The shoes had a taller foam sole and felt very plush.
The first run in these shoes was a 5 mile recovery run. These shoes felt great and offered more support than any other shoe I currently run in.

Saucony Hurricane 24 Shoe Overview
The Saucony Hurricane 23 is a max cushion and stability running shoe from Saucony. If you overpronate and need a responsive shoe, this is an option you should consider. Stability shoes are great for those who have a mild to moderate pronation, something I tend to do.
The PWRRUN PB foam offers a supportive and responsive feel with a roomy upper, making it great for folks who need a wider shoe option.
The shoe weighs 11.2, which is heavier than some of the other foam shoes on the market, but none of those offer the cushion level that the Saucony Hurricane 24 provides.

The sole to the Hurricane 24 had was transformed from its predecessor. The updated midsole features a dual cushion that is supportive, plush, and responsive. The PWRRUNPB foam is directly under the forefoot, making it one of the most comfortable running shoes I have worn.
The wider forefoot and broader platform, along with a rocker like feel, this updated sole really promotes a more natural motion, something I appreciated during my recovery runs with this shoe.
Saucony states “Experience a double dose of comfort with our all-new dual-cushioning system, pairing plush, energy-returning PWRRUN PB foam with a supportive PWRRUN foam frame. And with new-era geometry and CenterPath Technology, you’ll get optimal protection through every stride.”
The full coverage ground traction increases durability and traction on most surfaces.

Saucony Hurricane 24 Shoe Upper
I have always liked the uppers of any Saucony Hurricane running shoe I have worn before. With the latest version, the adaptive lacing system allows for a secure fit and snug fit. One thing I noticed was that the tongue sometimes would shift to the side during my runs. Not a big deal for me, but I can see how some would not like that.
The forefoot of the Hurricane 24 is nice and wide, something that I have really liked with some of the latest running shoes form Saucony. Combine that with the mesh upper and the shoe not only looks good, but feels good as well.
