Newton Motion All Weather Shoe Review

Newton Motion All Weather Shoe Review

The Newton Motion running shoe has been a favorite of mine for the past few years. Not only is this shoe comfortable, but it helps promote a natural running form, something we can all improve upon. I was looking online for a new pair of motion shoes, when I came across the Newton Motion all-weather version. The shoe is lightweight and waterproof, which is great for the fall and spring running seasons. This shoe is considered a performance stability shoe, but much different from the Adidas Tempo 6 and Brooks ST Racer that I have previously reviewed. Even though these shoes are waterproof, they weight around 10oz.

Pros Cons
  • Lightweight cushion
  • Waterproof
  • Promote natural running form
  • Color options
  • Price (retail $170)
  • Sizing – need to order 1/2 size up

Newton Motion All Weather Shoe Verdict

The Newton Motion AW shoe is a not only comfortable, but will keep your feet dry during those fall or winter runs when dry feet are critical. The shoe has the right amount of support that encourages a natural running form. This shoe is great because it accommodates all foot-types, meaning you can wear it if you need stability or neutral footwear.

If you can find a deal on these shoes, they are definitely worth mixing in to your running shoe inventory.

New Motion All Weather Shoe Initial Thoughts

Having worn the regular Newton Motions before, I knew that I would like the all-weather model. Getting ready for a late fall marathon means cooler runs with increased moisture where I live.

I have had 3 pairs of the regular Newton Motion shoes before and was a little skeptical about how the all-weather model would fit. The upper is a little different and not as light due to the fact that it repels water. These shoes not only feel great, but look fast.

About the New Motion All Weather Shoe

The Newton All Weather Shoe is one of the few shoes that Newton makes that is wind resistant, water-rellent, and reflective. All of these features make it great for those fall runs when its cool and damp. The patented forefoot technoogy in the forefoot and heel as well as the midsole foam are designed to perform better is cool and damp conditions. The outersole was created with soft rubber for improved traction on wet surfaces.

One thing you want to be careful of is that you will need to order a 1/2 size for Newton running shoes. For example, if you typically wear size 11 in Asics or Brooks, you will want to order 11.5 in any Newton running shoes.

Newton Motion All Weather Shoe Sole

TheNewton Motion All Weather Shoe Sole was designed to perform well in wet and cold conditions.  The patented Action/Reaction Technology in the forefoot and heel as well as the midsole foam are specifically tuned for cold and wet temperatures. This means on those cold and wet winter runs, you will feel more confident with each and every step. The rubber sole works better than I expected.

Newton Motion All Weather Shoe Upper

Newton Motion All Weather Shoe upper is much different from the regular Newton Motion running those. This shoe is not only wind-resistant, but repels part. Very different from the mesh upper in the regular model. This was one of the reasons that I was skeptical about how well the shoe would breath.

Even those this shoe has these features, it still breathes well, keeps you dry, and keeps your running fast.
