Brooks Ravenna 7 Shoe Review

Brooks Ravenna 7 Shoe Review

Brooks Ravenna 7

The Brooks Ravenna line has always been a great stability running shoe. Most recently I had a pair of the Ravenna 6 shoes. These performance stability shoes felt great for runs between 4 and 8 miles.

The Ravenna shoes are moderately light and have plenty of support for daily training. They were light enough to feel fast and supportive enough for the daily impact on your body.

Brooks has always been one of my favorite brands and I was really excited to give the new Brooks Ravenna 7 a try.

Here are the colors that are available for the Ravenna 7 running shoe. The men’s version has 5 colors and the women’s model has 4 colors. Most of these are cool color combinations.

Brooks Ravenna 7 Shoe Verdict

The Brooks Ravenna 7 is a great performance stability shoe if you are looking for something that provides lightweight support and comfort at a reasonable price-point.

The Brooks Ravenna 7 is one of those shoes that you can wear for your daily runs. The shoe isn’t extremely lightweight or over-supportive, but enough for daily use. Even though I wish the shoe was a little lighter, it didn’t feel sluggish during any of the runs for this review.

The upper of the shoe was wide enough for my wider than average feet and I really liked the padded tongue.

This shoe retails for $120, but you can normally find it on sale for under $80. This shoe is competitively priced with similar performance stability options.

The wide array of colors provides options for everyone.

Brooks Ravenna 7 Shoe Initial Thoughts

Having worn the Ravenna 6 shoes last year, I had a great feeling that I would be a big fan of the all new Ravenna 7. This years shoe not only fit better, but felt faster.

I was pumped with all of the color options. I went with the blue pair and couldn’t have been happier with the design and blue color.

The shoe weighs around 10.9oz, but felt much lighter when I actually ran in them. I have had a number of issues with narrow shoes (read Hoka Clifton 3 review) and these shoes were plenty wide and fit great.

The 10mm drop was higher than expected, but I didn’t notice it during any of my runs. The Brooks ST Racer 5 also has a 10mm so it was nice to have a similar drop for a training shoe. Each stride and step felt smooth and fluid.

Brooks Ravenna 7 Shoe Overview

The Ravenna 7 running shoe is a lightweight stability running shoe that can be used for daily training and long runs. The Ravenna 7 has a touch of support and responsive cushioning, which makes it a great shoe for racing.

If you are a fan of the Brooks Adreanline, you should give these shoes a try.

The shoe has nine solid color option (4 women, 5 men) for the men’s and women’s versions.

Brooks Ravenna 7 Shoe Sole

If you are familiar with Brooks running shoes, you will notice that many of the models they produce have similar characteristics. For starters, the BioMoGo midsole and the DNA cushioning offer ample support with a lightweight feel.

Similar to the Brooks Asteria, these shoes have flex grooves in the sole make it flexible and give the extra support that runners need during their run.

I wore these shoes on the road, treadmills, and trails. These shoes provided excellent traction in all conditions. Running in the fall means wet leaves and slick trails, all of which these shoes handled with ease.

The heel-to-toe transition is improved with the stable pod configuration. The blown rubber sole has been shown to extend shoe life and improve durability.

Brooks Ravenna 7 Shoe Upper

The first thing I noticed on the Ravenna 7 was the padded tongue. When I first put the shoe and tied the laces, I noticed how comfortable the shoe was.

One thing this shoe doesn’t have is a seamless upper. So many newer shoes have this feature and even though this shoe doesn’t, it still is extremely comfortable. The adjustable saddle construction molds to your foot for a stable and secure fit.

The mesh upper will help regulate heat and keep your feet dry during those tough workouts.
