The Adidas Ultra Boost ST running shoe is now available! Ever since Adidas created a shoe with a Boost sole, I have run in a few versions of the Boost Tempo shoe. Great for speed work, tempo runs, and racing. This year Adidas created the Ultra Boost ST which was created to replace the Adistar Boost shoe.

Having run in Boost shoes before, I was excited to partner with JackRabbit.com to try these shoes out. Having read great things about this new shoe, I was pumped to hear about the improved support and stability of this shoe as I tend to wear shoes in the stability/performance stability shoe category.

Below is my review of about the Adidas Ultra Boost ST and my experience running in these shoes. If anything changes with my opinion of the shoe or durability become an issue I will update this review.

The Adidas Ultra Boost ST men’s and women’s model have a variety of great colors to choose from. The color I was able to get was my favorite color option.

Adidas Ultra Boost ST Verdict

If you want a responsive and supportive stability shoe, I would recommend the Adidas Ultra Boost ST. The one thing I would say is that I think there are other shoes that offer comparable support that doesn’t cost $180.

If you like the Adidas Boost sole and the sponge-like feel of it, you will love these shoes. These shoes are a little on the heavy side, but they really provide incredible support and the responsive feel you expect to get with a full Boost sole.

The seamless upper fit like a glove and really was extremely comfortable. I did think that the upper could have secured my foot a little bit better than it did, especially for a shoe that retails for $180.

Adidas Ultra Boost ST Initial Thoughts

When I read about the Ultra Boost ST shoe, I had to give it a try. Even though people said it was a little heavier than most shoes, I was really interested to see how the full Boost sole would feel.

When I opened the box, I was impressed with the color scheme. I received a pair of size 11 D shoes so I was a little worried about the width. When I put the Blue/Yellow shoes on, they felt great. The shoes run true to size and I had plenty of room with the normal width model.

If you like the feel of the Adidas Boost and need a stability shoe, you will like the responsiveness of these shoes.

When I first ran in these, I could definitely feel the support and stability of this shoe. The thermoplastic unit in the sole Torsion System really provides incredible stability for anyone who pronates.

All in all, I was impressed with the initial run in these shoes.

Adidas Ultra Boost ST Overview

The Adidas Ultra Boost ST is a responsive and stability running shoe weighing in around 11.6 ounces.

The seamless upper provides a sock-like fit and offers incredible comfort. The Adidas overlays improve the security of the foot.

The Continental rubber sole provides improved durability while the Boost full sole provides incredible responsiveness.

Adidas Ultra Boost ST Sole

The Ultra Boost ST sole is really what makes this shoe special. As soon as you put it on and take a few steps in it, you instantly feel the responsiveness of the Boost sole.

For people that are new to Adidas and the Boost technology, the Adidas Boost sole is comprised of small, lightweight TPU pellets, providing a responsive and comfortable ride. The sole does an incredible job of dampening the shock of the body while running.

The multi-density sole provides stability while allowing and promoting a natural running movement. When you run in these shoes, you will really feel the stability that these shoes provide.

Similar to other Boost shoes, this shoe includes a Continental rubber sole, which means you can expect a durable and improved grip on all surfaces.

Adidas Ultra Boost ST Upper

The Adidas Ultra Boost ST upper was one of the unique things about this shoe. Even though plenty of other running shoes have a seamless upper, this one really did feel like a sock, similar to the Nike FlyKnit.

The Primeknit upper along with the Adidas logo overlays provide the sock-like feel and the Adidas overlays provide the support. As I mentioned earlier, I didn’t feel like it kept my foot as secure as I would expect.

The heel counter provides ample heel support and even though there is an odd-looking heel tongue, I didn’t even notice it.
