Saucony Guide ISO 2 Shoe Review

Saucony Guide ISO 2

The second version of the Saucony Guide ISO shoe is finally here! This is the third straight year that I have had the opportunity to try this stability running shoe. If you were a fan of the Saucony Guide ISO then you will be a big fan of the latest version of this popular Saucony stability running shoe.

The latest version of the Saucony Guide ISO shoe offers plenty of support and cushioning for those daily training runs, making it your go-to shoe. I rotate the original ISO version and love the balance of support and cushion. The updates to this shoe really look and feel great.

The Saucony Guide ISO is very similar to the Guide ISO 2 with a few updates including a wider forefoot and updated mesh upper.

Below are the things like and don’t like about the Saucony Guide ISO 2 running shoe.

Saucony Guide ISO 2 Shoe Verdict

Our Rating:
Viewer Rating:

Once again Saucony delivers again with the Guide ISO 2 running shoe. The updated ISOFit upper, wider forefoot and improved support/cushion make this a great daily trainer for those looking for a little bit of stability.

The shoe weighs in at 10.3 oz shoe making it light enough for long runs and daily training efforts. I usually wore these on runs of 6-10 miles.

I also ordered a 1/2 size up with this shoe, similar to what I did with the Saucony Guide ISO.

There are 4 color options of this shoe to choose from, including a wide model. If you were a big fan of the feel or the Saucony Guide ISO, you will like this shoe. I will update this review if my experience changes with this shoe.

Saucony Guide ISO 2 Initial Thoughts

I have been primarily running in Saucony shoes and enjoyed the updates to almost every shoe they make. With that said, I had a feeling I would enjoy running in the latest version of the Saucony Guide ISO running shoe.

The 10.3 oz shoe is light enough and felt great from the first time I put the shoe on. The shoe continues to include the EVERUN sole and ISOFIT which make it supportive and very comfortable.

Here are a few pictures of the Saucony Guide ISO 2 shoes that I wore for this review.

Saucony Guide ISO 2 Shoe Overview

The Saucony Guide ISO 2 is a great stability running shoe for those looking for a daily trainer. The updated Guide ISO 2 improves the sole, forefoot, and mesh upper making it great for those who have a moderate to severe overpronated foot motion.

The latest version has the ISOFIT update and continues with the EVERUN sole, which helps improve the stability of the shoe.

Saucony.com states that “The PWRFOAM midsole and EVERUNTM topsole combine to give you energetic cushioning while the 2nd density medial post guides the foot through its natural gait cycle.”

The mesh and seamless design provide a great fit, almost hugging your feet, especially with the narrower heel and wider forefoot. As I have mentioned before, these shoes are perfect for almost any run including recovery runs.

Saucony Guide ISO 2 Shoe Sole

There were a few changes made to the Saucony Guide ISO 2 sole. The sole has updated medial post guides the foot through its natural gait cycle improving the stability and cushioning of this shoe.

The sole continues to have a PWRFOAM sole along with an EVERUN sole providing a supportive and responsive fit.

The flex grooves flex to fit your foot as you move with each step. All of these updated features make the shoe responsive and lightweight.

Below are two similar technologies that remain with the Guide ISO 2 shoe.

The XT-900 outsole is made of carbon rubber material that improves durability along with traction. Additionally, the Tri-Flex sole increases flexibility and provides improved feel with each step.

Saucony Guide ISO 2 Shoe Upper

The Saucony Guide ISO 2 upper also had some minimal updates to the latest version of this shoe.

The mesh upper of the Guide ISO 2 was updated to be more supportive and breathable at the same time. The improved lacing system improves comfort to the top of your foot. The tongue has moderate cushion similar to the previous version.

The Guide ISO 2 continues to have the RunDry collar, which provides a snug and comfortable fit while absorbing moisture.

The Guide ISO 2 continues to include the ComfortLite Sockliner. This liner contours the inner of the shoe and helps with alleviating pressure on the forefoot. If you haven’t worn a shoe with this sockliner, you are missing out.

Below are a few pictures of the redesigned mesh upper material.
