Saucony Guide 10 Shoe Review

Saucony Guide 10 Shoe Review

Saucony Guide 10

I was first introduced to the Saucony Guide shoe last year when I partnered with JackRabbit.com to write a review on the Saucony Guide 9 RunPops shoe. These great looking shoes were lightweight, supportive, and great for runs of all distances.

The cool thing about the RunPops model was the unique colors. The lime green shoes I wore were great for those early mornings or evening runs as they practically glowed in the dark.

To make a long story short, I was excited to try out the Saucony Guide 10 after the great experience I had with the Saucony Guide 9. The Guide 9 and 10 are very similar with a few minor differences that I will explain later in the review.

Below are a few of the things I like and don’t like about the Saucony Guide 10 model.

Like Don’t Like
  • Lightweight feel
  • Responsive Sole
  • 4 color options
  • True sizing
  • Value Priced ($120 MSRP)
  • Sole Durability

Saucony Guide 10 Shoe Verdict

Saucony delivers again with another great Guide 10 running shoe. This stability shoe has an even better sole made with EVERUN technology.

The lightweight and extremely comfortable running shoe is available in 4 colors each for men and women.

The 10.2 oz shoe feels light, fast, and supportive. I was excited with how great these shoes felt the first time I put them on.

If you were a big fan of the feel or the Saucony Guide 9, you will really enjoy the updated model.

Saucony Guide 10 Initial Thoughts

Having read that the Saucony Guide 10 was very similar to the Guide 9 (the 9th version had major updates), I had a great feeling I would like these.

When I first picked the shoe up, the shoe felt lighter than 10.2 oz. One of my favorite things about the EVERUN sole is that its lightweight and very responsive.

I was excited about the color option I selected for this review. The lighter blue and red were a great combo.

Here are some pictures of the shoes I wore for this review.

Saucony Guide 10 Shoe Overview

The Saucony Guide 10 running shoe is an excellent option for a daily running shoe. The Guide 10 provides plenty of support for moderate to severe overpronated foot motion.

As I mentioned earlier, the Guide 10 updates are far less extensive than the Guide 9 (major update with the EVERUN sole). The Guide 10 still has the EVERUN sole, which makes it feel great with each step.

Saucony.com states that “The 10th edition delivers the ideal Guide running experience with a streamlined midsole design, dynamic engineered mesh upper and TRI-FLEX outsole with enhanced forefoot flexibility.”

My favorite updates to this incredible shoe redesigned upper. The mesh and seamless design provide a great fit. These shoes are light enough for long runs and supportive enough for recovery runs.

Saucony Guide 10 Shoe Sole

The Saucony Guide 10 has the same updated sole that was redesigned with the Guide 10. The updated sole was redesigned with EVERUN technology. The minor change in the Guide 10 has a modified midsole which drops the landing zone in the forefoot area.

The updated midsole remains lightweight, comfortable, and provides the necessary support for runs of all distances.

Below are two similar technologies that remain in the all-new Guide 10 shoe.

The XT-900 outsole is made of carbon rubber material that improves durability along with traction. The first time I wore these was after it rained. I did notice the grip that I had on a paved trail surface.

The new designed Tri-Flex sole increases flexibility and provides a better underfoot feel, something I noticed when I first put these on.

Below are a few pictures of the sole.

Saucony Guide 10 Shoe Upper

The Saucony Guide 10 upper was one of the updates made to this shoe. The redesigned upper has a new mesh material that is softer and has a seamless like feel. I must say the supper was extremely comfortable and something that I noticed when putting the shoe on for the first time.

Besides being comfortable, the redesigned upper provides a lightweight and breathable feel, something that I noticed is important after wearing a pair of Asics GT 2000 4 (feet were sweating like crazy with these).

The Guide 10 also has the RunDry collar, which provides a snug and comfortable fit, while absorbing moisture.

The Guide 10 continues to include the ComfortLite Sockliner. This liner contours the inner of the shoe and helps with alleviating pressure on the forefoot.

Below are a few pictures of the redesigned mesh upper material.
