There is nothing better than fresh and clean clothes, especially running clothes. If you are like me, you typically use the standard brands like Tide to wash all of your clothes. I recently was offered the opportunity to try a new detergent created to specifically help with sports related clothing. When Raw Athletics mentioned they would send a sample, I immediately took the opportunity to try something new. As often as I washed my running clothes and towels, I never really thought that my running clothes were that clean.

What is Raw Athletics?

For those of you who don’t know who Raw Athletics is, they are a company started by Stephen Steinberg who is a former University of Maryland hockey player. Stephen could never find safe products to keep the smell of his hockey equipment under control, so he decided to create Raw Athletics.

According to RawAthletics.com (now Vapor Fresh), Raw Athletics detergent is “the one detergent that meets all your laundry needs– an ultra-high performance laundry detergent specifically formulated to wash technical sports fabrics and safe for everyday laundry. Free & clear of dyes and fragrances.”

Raw Athletics Initial Thoughts

When I first opened the box from Raw Athletics, I was a bit skeptical as to whether this would actually remove odors and stains related to sports. I have played soccer since I was 5 and have had plenty of stains that never came out of my socks and shorts. In addition to the detergent, the odor spray was able to remove a few of the odors I had on my towel and some of my cycling clothing. 2 things that I thought would never happen.

Raw Athletics was easy to use and came in a compact container that was easy to store. Both are important characteristics.

Raw Athletics has been eye-opening to me as I never thought that any product would actually remove sports related odors. My brother played hockey growing up and really wish we would have this product at that time as his hockey gear caused our basement to smell like a locker room.

After using this product for a month, I can honestly say that this product works. I look forward to making more purchases on Amazon so that I can receive free shipping with my Prime membership.
