On Cloudvista Shoe Review

On Cloudvista

When I first received the email from On Running saying that they had a new trail shoe out, I was immediately excited. I was a big fan of the On Cloudultra shoe, but never really thought they were as responsive as I wanted them to be.

The Cloudvista at its core, is a lightweight trail shoe that provides a comfortable and responsive feel, making it great for any outdoor run or adventure. The neutral shoe type makes it compatible for most runners.

Sizing Recommendation: I would recommend ordering a 1/2 size up when buying the On Cloudvista.

At the time of this review there were two color options. I preferred the white and blue option, I just couldn’t find it in my size, which tells you how popular this shoe already is.

On Cloudvista Shoe Verdict

Our Rating:
Viewer Rating:

After reviewing the On Cloudultra, I always wanted a lighter and faster trail shoe from On. Enter the On Cloudvista, the lightest and fastest trail running shoe from On.

The competitively priced Cloudvista is responsive, lightweight, breathes well, and really looks great. I rarely put a shoe that feels great out of the box and this shoe really felt great from the very first time I put it on.

This On Cloudvista running shoe is competitively priced at $140.

The upper is thin and lightweight, so you may want to wear heavier socks if you are wearing these during the winter. The Missiongrip™ outsole offers great traction on most surfaces.

If you are looking for a supportive and responsive trail running shoe, you need to give the On Cloudvista a try!

About the On Cloudvista Shoe

The On Cloudvista running is the latest trail running shoe from On. This shoe is packed with comfort and responsiveness due to the Helion foam and the CloudTec® pods, making it incredibly comfortable out of the box.

This trail shoe is lighter, faster, and cheaper than the On Cloudultra trail shoe. While I loved the Cloudultra, I just never was able to break them in enough to feel like the Cloudvistas did on my first run.

The Cloudvista is in between a heavy duty trail shoe like the On Cloudventure and the On Cloudultra.

The On Cloudvista has an 7mm drop, which works great for most runners. This shoe is great for gravel and trails. You can wear this on the road if you need to, but I wouldn’t recommend long runs on the road with the Cloudvista.

On Cloudvista Initial Thoughts

I was really excited to try the Cloudvista shoes. The shoes looked sleek, fast, and read a few other positive reviews.

When I first opened the box, I drawn to how bright the white shoes were. They really looked slick and made me excited to put them on. The shoes were much lighter than the Cloudultra, which was the other On trail shoe I have worn in the past.

With first stride in these shoes, I felt the combination of CloudTec and Helion foam, making it comfortable right out of the box.

On Cloudvista Upper

When you put on the Cloudvista, you will immediately notice how lightweight and breathable the upper material is. Not only is the upper material lightweight, but it uses recycled polyester, making it an eco-friendly shoe as well.

The material on the upper part of the On Cloudvista running shoe is made of 70% recycled materials.

The tongue, laces, and ankle collar all also incredibly lightweight. The perforated tongue and super thin laces help reduce unnecessary weight to the shoe. The TPU mudguard is a nice touch to the shoe to protect the shoe during those trail runs.

Below are a few pictures of the upper portion of the On Cloudvista.

On Cloudvista Sole

The sole of the On Cloudvista is very similar to other trail running shoes that On sells. This shoe comes with a Missiongrip™ outsole that features squared lugs and a channel to eliminate water and mud. These combined features make it great for gravel, trails, and any other outdoor surfaces.

One thing that really stood out to me was the combination of Helion foam and Cloudtec pods. While the Cloudulta has pods, the foam on these shoes felt way more responsive and way more comfortable. You will also notice it when running.

“Change the way you see trail running. Ultra-lightweight and versatile, the Cloudvista combines Helion™ superfoam with CloudTec® for unbeatable comfort. While the always reliable Missiongrip™ means it’s the perfect shoe for any trail runner across short to middle distances.”

I have around 75 miles on the shoes so far and the soles continue to feel better and appear to be extremely durable. My Cloudultra shoes have a similar sole with over 300 miles, and still look great.

Below are a few pictures of the sole on the On Cloudvista sole.
